Acid fonts has over 2,000 free and shareware fonts listed for PC and Mac, including a selection of sci-fi fonts. The site is updated with new fonts every two weeks.
Font Freak
FontFreak has one of the largest free/shareware font archives on the net, with fonts from over 400 different authors. It includes 2,300 PC fonts, 755 Mac fonts, and 328 dingbats. One useful inclusion is a help page that shows you how to install the fonts.
Wanted Fonts
This site offers a dynamic collection of unique, useful fonts for web developers, graphic artists, desktop publishers and others. You can search or browse it in a number of ways including by author, category or name. There are no Mac fonts on the site, although it does have a link to an easy-to-use PC to Mac font converter.
